FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The International Science and Technology Outreach
Society (ISTOS) launches its web site http://www.istos.org on November 22, 1998. The
purpose of the ISTOS web site is to help foster the formation of collaborative task groups
of science and technology professionals throughout the world to provide innovative science
and technology solutions for problems of regional, national, and international interest.
ISTOS hopes that the new web site will not be a static brochure, but instead will serve as
a dynamic tool to help ISTOS and its members:
- promote networking and facilitate communication with and between
other organizations,
- promote collaborative tele-presence that will allow participants to
be involved with science and technology project strategic design and development,
- enhance the operational environment of all members by allowing them
to cooperate without requiring their physical presence,
- serve the public interest by widely disseminating research
findings,
- help identify, assess and utilize the existing
intellectual/professional talent of scientists, engineers and other professionals
throughout the world who are interested in collaborating to promote,
- and establish a mechanism over the Internet and the World Wide Web
that will help maintain a data base of interested individuals and potential projects.
Join us as we put ourselves and the technological
promise of the Internet to the test! ISTOS invites interested individuals and
organizations with the conviction and determination to help improve the lives of people
throughout the world to contact us by sending us email at info@istos.org or calling us at
(202) 667-8673.
